Snowy Nights is the result of a long-term collaboration with talented surfer, singer, songwriter and all round nice guy Dustin Franks. This feel-good video about life, love and surfing captures summers past, loves lost and the busy streets of NY.
I was responsible for all aspects of design and animation except character modeling and rigging. Thank you Dustin for trusting me with your song!

Learning to Surf
It’s been a while since I was on a board, but it helped having some experience in the water. That and watching loads of Blue Water and Surf’s Up. Not the greatest surf movies of all time but plenty of great references.
Scenic and Character Artwork
I created upwards of 100 drawings for texturing and compositing. This included signage, environments, waves, props and character skins.
Social Launch
Leading up to the video's launch I started posting on social to generate interest.
I began with teaser posts on Instagram showing some of the R&D. When the video was ready I posted on IGTV and LinkedIn. I also submitted to Motionographer who published an article praising the video.
